If you're one a budget and you want to continue to blog but feel like you can't keep up with all the reviews and new products, here are some discussion topics that could help you create content on a budget. Some of these topics are in my planner to work on as well. I keep running lists of blog ideas; it's a lot less daunting when you have some topics to browse through. When I sit down to write, I always think "I have nothing to write" when I look at my ideas, something without fail will jump out at me.

The Morphe 15B Brunch Babe palette didn't initially interest me but they were having a sale and I decided to pick it up to add to my collection. It was a very pleasant surprise because I love this palette. It's perfect for every day, I love the pops of pink. It's not too warm but not too cool either. It's a great neutral palette that leans cool. I like the range of colors and the black is BLACK! I don't usual smoke out my other corner with a black, but I will use it smoke out my lash line. I love that a dark brown is also included, because a dark brown in essential in a palette for me. The shimmers are not as metallic, but I spray all my shadows and it works out great for me. They do build very nicely.

I haven't been purchasing much makeup lately, but I did purchase some drugstore items. I'm trying to keep myself on a low buy. "Trying" is the keyword. I will have upcoming reviews but wanted to show you what I purchased and what I will be testing out in the next few weeks. For the summer, I wanted a more light coverage and decided to try the Marcelle CC Cream. It has Spf 35 and gives me the light coverage that I'm looking for. Even on my "no makeup, makeup" days, I like to have a base. I'll be testing this Canadian brand out, and will do a review once I have my thoughts put together. I've heard alot of good things about the Hard Candy Primers, and decided to try the Hydrating Primer. Hard Candy has a good variety of primers in their line up and I've never tried them before. I thought it would be a nice affordable option to buy. I don't hear alot about Hardy Candy in the beauty community. The Bourjois City Radiance was on clearance at my local Pharmaprix and I couldn't pass it up. I picked it up for 5$, and it retails for 35$ in Canada. I love the Healthy Mix Serum and this City Radiance fit in with the light coverage I'm currently looking for. When you're out in the sun all day, I don't want it to look like I'm wearing a full face of makeup. I just want a glowy/dewy base. This product also has SPF 30 which is great. I repurchased the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. It's a favorite drugstore concealer of mine. I like to have this concealer in my collections. The last purchase I made was a trio of QUO lipsticks, again it was another sale item. I picked this trio up for 1$. I've never tried Quo lipsticks but I do like some of their other products and thought it would be fun to try their lipsticks.

For the month of June, I've been wanting dewy skin and pink/purple eyeshadow looks. I normally go for a neutral look which I could still achieve with these palettes. Here are the products that I've been using over and over. One of my favorite palettes that I continually go back to is the Bebella 35C palette. This palette reminds me of the original Jaclyn Hill Morphe Favorites palette, which I do not own. This palette has one extra row but it looks so similar. The 35C palette blends beautifully and has great neutrals and pops of color. This palette really stands out in my collection. I have also been using the Morphe 15H quite often, I love the tones in this palette. It's really unique and fun for summer. The neutrals are also great when I want a quick look.

For face, I've been trying different primers, but I've been enjoying mixing my Physicians Formula Health Foundation with my Joe Fresh Daily Boost Fluid Foundation. I don't like the Joe Fresh one on its own, but I do like it mixed with The Healthy Foundation. I feel like I get a nice coverage, and a healthy glow. One top of that I've been using the Pixi Glow Mist spray which is really nice. I've heard so much about the Tatcha mist, but I wanted to try something more affordable. You have to shake up this product because the oil that will sit at the top. It gives me a glow but I don't look or feel greasy. The Pixi facial mists have a nice spray and I would buy this again.

In the last few weeks, these are the three glowy primers that I've been using. All three are affordable, and do a great job helping me achieve a dewy look. When using a primer, I'm looking for hydration and glow. I don't need a primer to help my makeup stay put; I'm pretty normal to dry and it stays put on it's own. The Rimmel Insta Flawless is the most natural since it dries clear and isn't as intense as the others. I could wear it on its own without foundation, where I couldn't do that with the other two. It's also the cheapest of the three, and a great starting point. The Physicians Formula Spotlight is so pretty, but has to be worn with a  foundation. You will look like a champagne Tin Man without. Don't be scared when you put it on, it looks great under foundation. I love the packaging on this one, the pump is also very nice.  It claims to "blur, correct, and protect to deliver a radiant, spotlight glow." I don't really see any blurring or correcting but the glow is there. The last primer that I've been using is the L'Oreal Magic Lumi. It feels great on the skin, and also gives me a weightless glowy base. This one is the most expensive for the amount of product that you're getting. It also has a pump. For my skin tone, I could use this to highlight my cheekbones as well. All three blend very well into my skin. I tried a white luminating base by Joe Fresh and it didn't blend well, it looked patchy under my foundation. These three don't have that issue. If I could only choose one, I would probably chose the Magic Lumi. I prefer the intensity without the champagne coloring. The Spotlight reminds me of the Becca filters which I haven't tried. Since I'm so fair, I like the white base.

Violet Voss has released many beautiful palettes, the Holy Grail palette was my first palette by the brand. Previously it wasn't that easy to purchase in Canada, not without shipping/custom fees. I purchased this palette through Sephora Canada. It's a great neutral palette with cranberry and wine shades, similar to the Modern Renaissance Palette. I'm not a fan of the Modern Renaissance palette but this palette works well for me. The palette has twenty shades and it has a great mix of shimmer, metallic and matte shades. I love this palette, and enjoy my look each time I use it. If I had one complaint, it would be more metallic shades instead of just shimmers but I know that's just my preference.

This palette is housed in a cardboard packaging with a mirror. The packaging could be improved for the price, but it doesn't really bother me that much. The shade Toffee is my absolute favorite shade, it's stunning! Both Brownie Points and Teddy Berry are gorgeous brown shades. I will take a dark brown over a black any day. This palette has all the basic needs that I look for in a palette. A matte highlight shade, a shimmer highlight shades, transition shades, lid shades and darker shades for more dimension. This has been one of my favorite palettes lately.

Based on this palette, I would love to try more Violet Voss palettes and products. They are on the more expensive side but if you like the shades in the palette, the formula is great. I've used this palette many times, and love the shade range.

The Revolution Conceal and Define concealer is a great concealer to give a try. Since it launched, it was tagged with the Tarte Shape Tape which I don't agree with. The packaging is similar, but the formula is very different. Tarte Shape Tape is very full coverage, and the Conceal and Define is not as full coverage. I bought both the C 0.5 and the C1 shade. C1 is closer to my skin tone, and C 0.5 is a highlighter shade for me. I'm very fair, and neutral toned. C 0.5 does seem to have a pinker undertone.

As an every day concealer, I really enjoy using it. I love the doe foot applicator and the concealer blends very well. I always use a salmon color corrector, and don't really need a thick full coverage concealer. My one complain about this concealer is that I've already gone through a tube. It seems like it has less product than other concealers I've used. I will try to pull out the stopper and see if I can get more product. I would repurchase this concealer, but due to shipping costs I would only repurchase if I was buying something else and added this in the cart.

The Soph X Revolution palette was a hidden gem. Soph is a UK Youtuber, and I do really enjoy her channel. She's very relatable and fun to watch. If you want to check out her channel, you can find her here. It took me awhile to pick up this palette but I was really happy when I finally decided to get it. I really like the variety that I can get from this palette. It would make a great travel palette when you want more than just a neutral look. The mattes are nice, and the shimmers are very pretty. I always spray the shimmer shadows in this palette. That's something I do with most shadows. It amps up the shimmer and  helps it last longer on my eye. While I do prefer the formula of the new Revolution Pro eyeshadow palettes, these do build up nicely.

I've always wore monthly contact lenses and noticed that they don't typically last a month for me anymore. I tend to get irritated eyes and have to change them out more frequently. I've seen changing them after only a week. I started to look into daily contacts and I discovered Hubble. Hubble offers daily lenses for 40$ Canadian a month. I thought that was interested and very affordable. I've purchased makeup subscription boxes around this price, and I thought my eyes are worth it. Hubble offers 15 pairs for free, all you have to pay is pay 4$ for shipping. I thought it would be worth a try.

When I received my free trial, I received two boxes with my prescription. My eyes are not the same, and have two difference strengths. I labeled the boxes left and right and tried them out in the morning.  I've always worn Coopervision brand contact lenses and when the optometrist tried different brands on me before, they weren't comfortable on my eye. I was a little hesitant, but the Hubble lenses felt great immediately. Since these are daily lenses, they are much thinner. I don't have any issues with my eyes drying and overall, really like these contacts.

Daily Contacts

I decided to keep on with the subscription service. It comes to 44$ with shipping each month. They automatically charge and ship out according to the delivery schedule that you set up. If you want to cancel, you just have to give them a call. I do recommend the 15 day trial, it was nice to try them for a few days before deciding if I wanted to keep them or not. They do ship from the US with a tracking number. It didn't take very long to arrive in Canada. I'm happy that I came across this subscription service. I'm hoping I have a lot less eye irritation.

25 G Grand Glam Morphe

The 24G Grand Glam palette by Morphe is a fun palette to play with- it's filled with peachy/pink undertones. The warm browns are wonderful. The pan sizes are huge! Double the size of their regular pans. I could honestly dip a blush brush in the pans, easily. This palette swatches beautifully and wears really well. The lighter shades could easily be used as highlighter, the pink could be used as a blush and if you find a brown that would work as a bronzer/contour, I would try it. I purchased this palette in January, and I've used it quite a bit. It's typical of Morphe's recent shadows, they blend well and are very pigmented. There is a nice mix of matte and shimmer shades. It is housed in a cardboard packaging without a mirror but does feel sturdy.

May has been a shop my stash makeup month. I've been enjoying a dewy, highlighted look with peachy blushes and warm eye looks. My Jaclyn Hill X Morphe palette is always on my vanity because it has every thing I need when another palette is missing; an inner corner highlight, a dark brown or a transition shade that I need. However, this month I've been using it constantly for my complete eye looks. I love this palette so much, it's beautiful and perfect in my eyes. Jaclyn Hill has been teasing new eye shadows, and I'm interested. I believe they will launch this month. I can't wait!

For my under eyes, I've been using the Becca Brightening Powder. I've never used a high end loose powder before and this really did make a difference. It doesn't look heavy on my under eyes and doesn't settle into those fine lines. It brightens and looks great. I went back to using the L'Oreal Magic Lumi as a primer and it really adds to a dewy look. It blends easily into my skin, and foundation blends well on top. I tried another products similar to the Magic Lumi and it did not blend well into my skin and looked patchy underneath. The L'Oreal one is recommended by me. For foundation, I've been looking for a lighter look and the Maybelline Hydrate and Smooth has been working well. Why does this not have a pump? Ugh, I wish. That's my only complaint about this foundation.

Makeup Revolution has rebranded to Revolution Beauty and their Freedom Pro range has been revamped under Revolution Pro. This is the second Revolution Pro palette that I picked up and I was pleasantly surprised. The first palette I picked up was the neutral Goldmine palette. I love this palette, it's perfect for a neutral eye. The Revelation palette has the same high pigment and blendable shadows. It has a nice range of colors and fits right into the summer pink trend. I feel like pink eyeshadow is very on trend right now. If you haven't noticed it looks very similar to the Huda Beauty Remastered Rose Gold palette. That palette retails for 85$ Canadian and the Revelation palette is 12$ US on the Revolution Beauty website. If you're not sure if you would like these tones on your eyes, you might was to try the more inexpensive version.

This palette has nice neutral colors, as well as the pink and burgundy shades. The shimmers are very pretty, Dominate seems to need a glitter glue though. It's pretty chunky. This is the third shade/bottom row on my swatch picture. The pan sizes are very nice and the palette overall is a good size. I would love to try the other palettes in this range. They have a nice matte colorful palette that would be fun to play with.


Revolution Beauty is one of my favorite affordable brands. They have a very large selection of products and the shade ranges are pretty extensive. They release new items constantly which can be a little overwhelming but keep in mind they don't do Limited Edition products so you can wait to pick them up. Have you tried any of the Revolution Pro items? I usually purchased through the UK site and have no issues with shipping to Canada. It does take 2.5 to 3 weeks but it's worth the wait.
