Color Correcting Illuminating Full Coverage Cream + Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum + SPF 50+ UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum Physical Sunscreen |
If you've read a few of my reviews, you know I like a glowy, dewy base. I typically have normal to dry skin and I'm not really looking for high coverage. I thought I would try out the It Cosmetics CC Illumination Cream to see what all the hype was about. I was leaving for vacation, and the added SPF 50 was an added plus. I don't normally wear a daily SPF, and thought this would be a great alternative.
It Cosmetics has three versions of this CC cream, the Original, Illumination and the Oil Free. The oil free version is the newest launch. I obviously opted for the Illumination, which claims to provide hydration, be anti aging and "enhance skin brightness without shimmer or glitter." It is infused with "proprietary drops of light technology" to give a subtle touch of radiance. I'm not sure if everyone would call it a subtle radiance, if you don't like a dewy look this is not going to be for you. I can see how some people would think it was too glowy for day to day, but I had no issues wearing it to work or out in the sun. If was perfect in my opinion. I wear a very light coverage, and apply it with a brush. If you want a fuller, medium coverage this won't be a problem. It does stay a little tacky, but I've not set it and blended powders on top without issues and I've also set in certain areas that I like to set. I would recommend not using an emollient primer underneath, you'll want to use something that dries down nicely otherwise it might settle into fine lines. This is more of a primer issue, and not a CC Cream issue.
If I had to choose one thing I didn't like about this product is the packaging. It's not the worst packaging, my any means it is very nice to travel with; my issue is that the pump doesn't always give a full pump and I'm scared that it would malfunction at some point. If it's already being testy with me, I'm not confident it will last the life of the product. Do I think this product us worth the higher price point? Yes, I do. I would recommend this for someone looking for a multi purpose product, someone looking for a light to medium coverage, and someone who wants to have the SPF coverage.
This does sound like a good product and I do like medium coverage. I like the packaging but it's a shame you felt that way about the pump!

same to you!
DeleteI've been dying to try out the IT Cosmetics original CC cream but I have a few foundations to get through first. I think this one would be a bit too dewy for me.

I'd like to try the original too and see which one I'd like best.
DeleteI've only tried the original and I love it. I think I have a sample of this one so I need to try it! xx

I would be open to trying the original too.
DeleteThey recently launched an Oil Free formula.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the original version of this so I'm sure I will end up trying this one at some point! x

I just love the original one. I have oily skin so I try to stay away from dewy foundations/cc creams. The light to medium coverage is the best and the added SPF. I did not know there is an oil free version as well. :-)

Its a shame the pump is not the best. I have heard great things about their complexion products, but I have yet to try them x

It's a pity that in Europe is hard to get this CC :(
ReplyDeleteI accidentally got the Illuminator CC cream once instead of the regular and I didn't like how sparkly it was on me, so I exchanged it for the regular one! This of all of the foundations give me the fullest coverage.
