The Body Shop 'Drops of Youth' Foaming Wash and Silicone Facial Brush
Wednesday, August 8, 2018
First, let me tell you I'm not a skincare expert. I have normal to dry skin and don't struggle with skin issues. I am getting older, and I've been wanting to learn more about skincare in general. Recently, I started using The Body Shop's Youth Gentle Foaming Wash* and I immediately enjoyed the instant foaming of the cleanser and the soft pleasant scent you smell when applying it to your face. I wasn't sure how it would feel on the skin or if it would work for me, but I was optimistic about trying it.
This Youth Gentle Foaming wash is enriched with plant stem cells "Edelweiss from the Italian Alps, Criste marine and sea holly from the Brittany Coast and community trade organic babassu oil from Brazil." When using this face wash, you are left feeling refreshed and clean without feeling like you have gone too far and stripped your skin. It easily rinses off, and I don't feel like I have any left over residue. My skin feels hydrated and very smooth. Since using this wash, I haven't had any issues with my skin and I would continue to use it.
I recently purchased a new Silicone Facial brush, you can find it here. I've been using it in conjunction with this wash. I apply the foam wash on my face directly, and then use the brush. It has a timer which I love, and at 30 second intervals it stops briefly and starts back for another 30 seconds. This helps if you want to target a certain section, or want to make sure you're not over cleansing an area. It's quite small, and fits in my hand very nicely. It also travels well because it is so small. The battery lasts months, and you don't have to charge it frequently. This is my second affordable silicone brush, and between the two, I do prefer my new one. I love the shape of this one, it feels softer and the timer is great. The Foreo brushes also have a timer, and they are much more expensive.
Do I think silicone brushes are worth it? Yes, I was trying a bristle brush for a few month and while I liked the clean feeling, it left me with texture on my face. Going back to a silicone brush like this one, my texture is gone. I will remain with these types of facial cleaning brushes.

I like that it has a timer. When Im doing things like this, I count to 60 and move to another section. So having a timer will be really great.

I haven't tried anything from them so long. I'm kind of scared to try their skincare, because I have had way too many bad experiences :|

I have not tried anything from Body Shop yet. But using these kind of silicone brushes is really nice. I still have not got the chance to purchase one. I always forget to add it to my amazon cart. I do have a hand held one which is not mechanical and I love the way it makes my skin smooth and clean. :-)
