If you're a blogger on a budget or want to watch what you're spending- keep track of it. Each month, I list out what I purchase and keep a total. It adds up fast and seeing the total can really keep you on track. I decided that I would start showing my monthly makeup/beauty hauls and December was a great month to start. I didn't really buy alot because I had so much Christmas stuff going on. I mentioned being more intentional with what I purchase this year, and I've been doing pretty good. So here is what I picked up:

Eye Studio Mascara Sampler

This is the second time I purchased the Pharmaprix/Shoppers Drug Mart mascara sampler.  I believe these are only available for the holidays. I haven't seen them at any other time of year. I really enjoy trying new mascaras, but high end mascara's do cost quite a bit. This sample allows me to try out these brands, see which ones really work on my lashes, and I can pick one to purchase full size with an included gift certificate. Most of these are new to me, which is exciting. This cost 42$ but I was able to get them for free with points. 

Urban Decay Naked Cherry

I really wanted this palette and I tried to talk myself out of it. When I had points that I could redeem, I chose this palette with no hesitation. Urban Decay isn't available at every Beauty Boutique but I the one near me did have them in store. Overall, I really do enjoy this palette and I recently reviewed it here. I love the color story of this palette, it's not super unique but it is very pretty and I keep going back to it.

Quo Megawatt Duo Highlighter

This Quo duo higlighter was stunning when I swatched it in store and picked it up right away. I'm not sure if it is limited edition or not but I'm so happy to have it in my collection. I reminds me of the Pixi highlighter duo's that recently launched. I did review and swatch this on a recent blog post, you can see it here.
