Burt's Bees is a brand that has recently expanded its range of products in Canada. Recently, Top Box Circle sent me some products to test out and review for their program. I was excited to also review them for my blog. I was provided with the Goodness Glow foundation, nourishing mascara, and four of the blush, bronzer, highlighter cheek and lip sticks.
Burt's Bees Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation
When looking at all the products I received; the foundation was one that I almost purchased myself and I couldn't wait to give it a try. It claims to be a full coverage mineral foundation that "leaves the skin smoother and more radiant with a natural finish that's never heavy, cakey or greasy."
In terms of packaging, it has a glass bottle with a nice controllable pump. I have dry skin and I'm sad to say that this foundation didn't work for me. I found it hard to blend, it clung to drier parts of my face and it did not like certain powders that I would use to set my face. I tried it with both a brush and a sponge and I had the same results with both. It wasn't horrible but I could see it sitting on my skin and didn't melt in as much as I would have liked. It did get better after I wore for a little while, but still not the best. As I'm writing this I wonder if it would have worked with using my fingers to blend it in and warm it up. I will try it and update this post. I also tried mixing in my moisturizer to thin it out and see if I liked it better, and it didn't make a difference.
Now, on to the products that I did like...
Burt's Bees Nourishing Mascara
This mascara was nice as a lengthening mascara. I will be honest and say that I did prefer to wear my L'Oreal Voluminous Primer underneath which is typical for me. Paired together I was able to get the volume and length that I like without the primer I just had added length which I don't really like. This mascara is made with jojoba oil, and naturally moisturizing glycerin. It has plastic bristles but did not clump. I was able to use it for my top and bottom lashes without any smudging or transfer.
Burt's Bees All Aglow Lip and Cheek Stick
These were interesting to me because they were cream products and I don't wear a lot of cream products. They convinced me that I need to try more cream because I like light natural face products. These sticks are packed with jojoba seed oil, sunflower seed oil, and the hydrating core is made of coconut oil. The highlighter was a standout favourite of mine, it gave my cheekbones a wet look and I loved it. The blush sticks were very natural on my cheeks and by putting them on your lips too, you can easily match your cheek and lips. The bronzer wasn't the colour that I would choose for myself and I didn't like it on my fair skin. Overall, I loved these products except for the bronzer. They lasted pretty well, I did use a setting spray after applying them so that might have changed the wear time. Since these are cream, they would be easy to reapply with your fingers on the go. I applied them to my face and blended with a sponge.

I wasn't a huge fan of the foundation either! I have not tried their lip and cheek sticks yet. Those look really nice!

The highlighter is so dreamy and I'm working on tweaking the foundation to hopefully get it to sit better on the drier parts of my face. The bronzer didn't work out for me either!

Pity about the foundation! I like the look of the Lip & Cheek sticks! xx

I hate when foundation looks patchy, it's so a shame it didn't work on you, especially when you tried with a brush and a sponge. I never tried the highlighter stick, but have to one day ;)
